Hello there and welcome to the blog
Whew! The 3rd month just flew by (though quite slowly). Btw, I hope our resolutions have been going smoothly..fit fam, how far? (runs away)
This month has been the toughest of the three so far and I was able to learn a lot actually which would be summarized under 2 headings.
Of late, sitting back and relaxing in the midst of a crisis seemed difficult for me. I began to feel unusal telling myself all would be well when obviously things were going South. Somehow, I got this impression in my heart that
God’s strength is made perfect in my weaknesses.
Meaning that until I admit that I’m weak and choose to be powerless, thereby drawing strength from God then I’d never get strong. Not sure you got that. Just look at it this way:
Only an empty vessel can be filled
And that’s a word for me in this season. There are times that you’d have to do something. So, ask God for what He’d require that you do.
THE ONE MINUTE PAUSE
Looking back at the moment, I realise that most of the challenges I faced were as a result of not sticking to the one minute pause.
By that, I mean taking a mintute to cool off, think and reflect before acting out. I hope I’m able to share my stories of the challenges some day. It’s very reflex to want to react when you hear rude comments and observe nasty attitudes from people you come in contact with; be it co-workers, colleagues, customers and non-customers, etc. But the word of God says:
A careful answer turns away wrath
I learnt this from a devotional actually. You know I got to practise this yesterday and I was proud of myself hehe.
So instead of reacting to an unpleasant situation immediately, pick up your mind clock and begin to countdown to 1 minute.
Right now, I’m not perfect at it, still learning and hoping it becomes a part and parcel of me. And yes
~ always wash/sanitize your hands
~ maintain social distance
~ avoid hugs and other body contacts
~ as much as you can, STAY HOME
~ pray without ceasing
~ draw close to God, and if you haven’t, surrender your life to Him
Until next time, keep evolving.
