It’s amazing that there are beautiful souls out there willing to share their lessons, wisdom and experience with us.
I hope you learn greatly from this…EnjoyGrowth is not automatic but its a process that occurs gradually, steadily and also takes time. If you’d look at everything that grows around you, you’d realise that they all started from somewhere.During my undergraduate days, I had no idea of what the University life was. My mindset was not just to be a bookworm rather to have all round success as seen in Joshua 1:8
I needed to grow in all aspects; Spiritual, Academics, Sport, Financial and in my relationship with others. The end product of growth is result/rewards after respective roles have been played out well.
Roles are your responsibilities to be done at the right time and place in order to obtain the real rewards. While rewards serve as a motivation for our obedience.
Paul writes, “The one who plants and the one who waters work as one, but each will receive his reward according to his work.A call to spiritual growth is a call of submission with a cost of discipleship (A disciple is one who lives and learns from the word of God).
Mechanics of growing
a. The Word of God is a catalyst for Christian growth. The more we feed on it, the more we will grow just like a baby from milk to solid food 2pt 2:2-3
b. Prayer is our lifeline to God, so pray what you want to see happen and be ready to obey. Our prayer life becomes effective as our relationship with Christ becomes more intimate.
“I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:13-14)c. Fellowship is a means of renewing strength and encouraging others.
Heb 10:24-25: “And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near”
In this generation, some are retarding in wisdom and have exchanged success and integrity for pleasure but see what God expects of us as seen in Col. 1:9-10; For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
Growth is constant but the speed and direction is determined by choice. Recently, I did a review on how my last year(2018) went and I discovered that I did alot activities but productivity was low.
This year, I have taken a bold step to read more and write better, in January I read 3books and wrote a story on a blog, alongside other contents. It was not an easy task because I spent less time on social media, unnecessary discussions and television.
God is molding us into a perfect piece of pottery and promises to keep us in the right path throughout the process. What’s should be your response; Trust Him.
Therefore, Grow in grace and gain goodness 2pt.3:18.Now, I ask, what’s your response to growth?Feel free to share your comments. ThanksAuthor: Omosanya Dunsin
