It’s wonderful to have you here again.
And if you’re joining us for the first time, you’re very much welcome.
Today, we’d be looking at few of the lessons (I said few because if I were to share all, few of us
like me wouldn’t get to the end of the post) I learnt in the month of February.
THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
I’ve come to learn that the power of the Holy Spirit is not mere miraculous demonstrations and intense emotions. It is of utmost importance to know that most of the time, His power is released in quiet, unassuming ways that i might not be aware of.
the power of the Holy Spirit is not mere miraculous demonstrations and intense emotions.
The Holy Spirit nudges us with a whisper sometimes.
That moment when you are about to say something not nice and there’s a break in transmission and you end up not saying it, that’s the Holy Spirit at work, or when you’ve searched everywhere for an item you just could not remember where you placed it, and you suddenly jump up and go straight to where it is, that’s the Holy Spirit or when you had no idea what to study for an exam and there’s a nudge to maybe study something weird and that’s the exact question you’re asked.
Permit me to share a personal story. I once had an oral exam where I was totally confused on what to read. I felt this impression to start from the beginning of the text book (it was a topic I actually failed when we wrote the test and this topic). I had let’s say roughly 30 minutes till it was my turn. I was absurd. Why do I have to start from the beginning (not like I could cover the entire great big text within the time frame)? Well, I started. Lo and behold, when it got to my turn, all the questions asked where from that topic. This was a topic I failed, one I knew little about. That my friend I tell you was 100% the Holy Spirit.
The answers to your prayers do not have to be dramatic. You can lay your hands on the sick and declare healing on them. Because the answer isn’t obvious to you doesn’t mean they did not get healed.
I went through the book of Proverbs and I was stunned by the truths about anger that were revealed to me. It’s not like I had never studied this book before. But this was different.
I used to think that when a person is angry, it was cool to let the offender be aware as this should be a form of warning of a dislilke. I was wrong.
Proverbs 19:11 says it all.
You need to be dead to it. I mean, if you wish, use the biggest needle you can find to prick a dead person, there would be no form of pain. So it is when you are dead to anger.
A way to deal with anger is if you learn to forgive people before they hurt you
If you are like the “former me”, I hope you learnt from this.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Eph. 4:2)
Other lessons learnt include:
- Learning to be a servant
- Learning from the experienced
Let’s treat them some other time, shall we?😊
I hope you were able to learn something as well…feel free to share your lessons too.
There’s always love in sharing..hope to see you next time and till then, keep evolving
