The story is told of a young chap who lost the most beautiful wristwatch he had ever seen, which was actually his first.
That wristwatch was his bestfriend. He’d eat, sleep, bath with it and never lost sight of it.
Now it was missing. This made him cry for days and no one could really understand why just a mere watch would do such may be cause he was little and didn’t understand much and the principle that things come and things go.
Fast forward to 2 weeks later, Grandpa came visiting and noticed his grandson wasn’t his cheerful self. He asked what was wrong and he narrated everything. Now while everyone was out about their daily activities, they both decided to investigate the matter (like detectives).
So grandpa asked him where he last saw it and he said it was in the garage while trying to put on a wristband he saw, he took it off. He then went on playing with the band and after he returned, he couldn’t find his watch. He searched and searched but couldn’t find it.
They went to the garage and grandpa told him to be quiet, they weren’t going to throw things here and there. Everywhere was quiet and in the midst of the silence, they began to hear the watch ticking and that gave it away.
Hurray, his watch which was lost has been found.
Now, let’s relate this to our individual lives. A lot of times, out hearts are so troubled about the happenings around us that we throw away the peace we have and then the worry creeps into our inmost being. In the end, the problem remains unsolved
Ever stood in a busy place, e.g., Obalende market (a very noisy and busy market in the city of Lagos, Nigeria) and tried listening to someone who was talking to you? I bet you’d hardly hear a thing. And even if you do, you might hear wrongly and you’d have to keep straining your ears till you make out the words.
The more you hear, the less you’d make out any word being said.
There are times in our lives where all we need to do is be quiet and hear the details of what God is saying.
Silence could also come in the form of rest. I mean, you need to be at rest, peace to calm your body and soul. There’s no harm in taking time off to rest.
And when things go not according to the plan, learn to rest and seek answers to how they went the way they did and not quit.
The blog would be going on a short break so as to be refreshed…..
We hope to come back better
..till then, keep evolving as God’s masterpiece 😉
