Another sub-title under the BECOMING WHAT YOU BELIEVE EPISODE of the FAITH series….come on, it’s not that complex😆😆
••••••The crowd jeered angrily, ranting all kinds of abusive words….let her die! She must die! A great sinner she is. Never in history has such happened. She’s such a disgrace to Adam and our Father Abraham….on and on they went.
Throwback to 25 years ago, she never intended this was going to happen. Her Mother read to her from the book of Proverbs 31 the wise words of Bathsheba to her son King Lemuel aka Solomon and all she pictured was herself being that kinda woman
She heard her Mother’s voice whisper to her:
Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; And she smiles at the future [knowing that she and her family are prepared].
PROVERBS 31:25 AMP
“If only”, was all she could say right now..if only she had not given in…oh no. This was definitely the end. How could such sweet love turn to this.
Tears welled up in her eyes and began to pour like a river. She was going to die a shameful death. There was no one to save her. No one to rescue her. She had disheveled hair, glaring eyes and sunken cheeks.
How did she get into all of these and where was he?
He promised her Heaven and Earth and said he was never going to leave her side. From the very first day he met her by the sea-shore at Magdala,
he told her his heart practically almost leaped out from his chest the moment she smiled at him, that she was better than awesome, a ruby which was priceless, a treasure among treasures, one of the greatest wonders of the world.
He promised he was going to love her and stay with her forever (the perfect words from a Yoruba
demonAngel..if u know, u know😅😅)
As it stands, it was all a fallacy. All he was interested in was the wealth She inherited from her Parents. Unfortunately, she was carried away by the sweet words, gifts, the pressure of not being married at her age and the fact that he seemed to be different from all the others She had been with.
☆☆☆☆Intermission…..have you been there??☆☆☆☆
She began to seek for something or someone to fill the vacuum inside of her and so she abandoned her body to pleasure that she was no longer called by any other name than ‘the sinner’. She couldn’t count the number of men she had been with and never expected that she’d get caught. As it stands, her life was over.
••••back to the present day
Just as the crowd was about to deliver a judgement which was right in their own eyes, a judgment to stone her to death, a man suggested they drag her to the self-acclaimed teacher who seemed to always nullify their religious rules. Hahaha at last, they could set him up with this offence.
After narrating all that happened, not speaking a word, He simply bent down and began scribbling words on the sand.
Immediately he was done, the crowd began to get smaller till no one was left.
With the woman still standing there. He straightened up and said to her, “Where are they? Is there no one left to condemn you?” “No one, sir,” she answered. “Well, then,” He said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, but do not sin again.”
John 8:7-11 GNT
That marked the beginning of an unbelievably new chapter cause she was so certain there was no redemption for her.
Her joy knew no bounds. So excited, she rushed to Him and hugged Him and asked for who He was. He described himself simply as the son of God and she immediately knew He was the Messiah she heard about.
This man was her Saviour, her Hero and Redeemer.
Sometime later, she heard He was invited to have dinner with a certain man, and so she brought an alabaster jar full of perfume and stood behind Him, by His feet, crying and wetting His feet with her tears. Then she dried His feet with her hair, kissed them, and poured the perfume on them.
Luke 7:36-38 GNT
This act has made her significant in history. There’s no way Jesus is talked about that she’s not mentioned.
Her conversion is all the more spectacular because her sin prior to that conversion was so great (according to the Teachers of the law).
After her days passed away,
Mary was an ordinary woman who had managed to find spiritual greatness, who had battled the sin and shame that was inherent within her and won. She gave sinners everywhere hope for forgiveness. And also became role model to women who spreads God’s word far and wide.
A REMINDER that you can become what you believe you’d become no matter how terrible your past or present situation is.
