Happy New month peeps. Welcome to the month of August….
I feel gooood parararararara……It’s gonna be an awesome month ahead..if only you’d believe 😉
On to our second episode in the faith series “if only you’d believe”- THE PATHOLOGY OF SIN (an overview)
A foetus growing in the womb of its mother gets all the nutrients necessary for life from her.
It is completely dependent on her.
As the foetus grows, it’s not seen only the Mother is seen and when the child is born, no one sees the inside of the child. It is covered with skin for beauty, to keep warm, cozy, give protection to all the internal organs and keep the body from infection. Also to keep against dehydration.
Look at it this way:
Woman – God
Foetus – you
Skin – Jesus
When the woman looks at her child, she sees a beautiful creature. Even when the child while growing begins to pull her hair, earrings or bedwets she doesn’t get angry because she looks at the child and sees a pure gift of life she had to labour to bring into the World and a gift she loves with her life.
Now look at it this way, accepting Jesus into your life automatically means you give all of your life to Him. He’s in charge. He becomes your skin that God sees.
As a child of God born of God, We know that those who have been born from God don’t go on sinning. Rather, the Son of God protects them, and the evil one can’t harm them. (1 John 5:18 GW).
The evil one can only harm them when the covering on them is pulled off.
Meaning when a child of God sins, he’s literally peeling off his skin. Ouch! That hurts. Yeah it’s really painful. Try peeling off your skin.
Gradually, he begins to lose enough surface area to increase his water loss, gets severely dehydrated, kidneys shut down, heart fails to compensate and then he dies (imagine how people die in Nollywood movies. The person first screams then rolls on the floor then has an episode of convulsion…..)
And we know if there’s a reconstructive surgery especially done by man, there’s gonna be a scar except it’s cosmetically hidden.
Let’s say that’s the kinda death sin brings.
A man born of God, still in Christ finds it extremely hard, in fact, doesn’t consider it an option cause he knows how painful it is
As long as you remain ignorant, you’d continually peel off your skin and because fresh air is cooling you, you’d keep enjoying the pleasures that come with sinning.
And even when you want to stop, you find yourself in that same process again.
I remember the days in boarding house when human feet were delicacies to rats. When a rat wants eats a person’s digits, it would keep blowing the area with cool breeze. The person would just be enjoying the sweet breeze only to wake up and see the digits have been tampered with.
Now let’s say one is completely ignorant of the peeled skin, because the devil is giving you temporary sedatives in the pleasures that come with sin, if not treated, the affected area becomes infected and later develop overwhelming sepsis and become dependency on so many machines to live…..that becomes the end
You retrace your steps and meet the ALMIGHTY surgeon. The one who made sinews for dry bones, the one who brought back dead Lazarus to life with fresh skin….just to drop this…the garment of His son was seemless..meaning He can reconstruct without any scar of any form.
He’s the Cardiothoracic surgeon that can give you a new heart, when the old has failed (if you missed the post just click here)
If only you’d believe in HIM, you shall be saved, reconstructed as a new being.
He has given you the power to choose between life and death. It’s your choice to make.
It doesn’t matter the extent of skin that has been peeled off. He’s willing and ready to sew it all back together to make you anew. Just believe and it shall be done.
The testimony is this: God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:11-12 GNT
Choose to grow under the skin covering that keeps you from all harm and has life.
